A sample of my day in Munich today. Very overcast, very drizzly. Still had a good time though.
Off to Hong Kong in a few.

Balto is gone.
Because he touched so many people, I felt I would share that Balto was put to sleep this afternoon.
His last months were very happy and his last week of memories were loaded with lots of bacon, chicken, fish, and a warm pillow on his papa’s lap.
For everyone who always wanted to know, the answer was ‘yes’.
He was a wolf.

The Grandfather
Yvon Chouinard, Ventura, California
Dear Patagonia,Little did we know this blue prototype fleece developed in ’76, which we referred to as rare Siberian blue poodle fur, would be the grandfather of all fleeces.
…
This first fleece jacket hangs proudly on the wall at Patagonia headquarters, but I had to take it down and try it on for old time’s sake.

It is COLD tonight, Boston. If you see folks in need buy them a warm drink. People will die of exposure tonight.
“Dear Aaron ,
Just a friendly reminder, there are only a few days left until your trip: Hong Kong… ”
Oh, Orbitz- you say the sweetest things.

Wildflowers, California
Photograph by B. Anthony Stewart, National Geographic
In this picture from the early 1940s, travelers in California’s San Joaquin Valley gather owl’s clover and blue lupine in a field along Route 99. The photo originally accompanied a 1942 feature story on California’s abundant wildflowers.

Die, 2012, die.
“It’s important in life to conclude things properly. Only then can you let go. Otherwise you are left with words you should have said but never did, and your heart is heavy with remorse.”
